Clippers fall short to the Kings
The Briercrest Clippers and the Red Deer Kings played each other in a tight game on Friday night, but the Kings came up big winning 79-93.
Starting the quarter off was a strong surge from the Kings, the Clippers trailed behind by 12 points having a gap they had to push. The score ended at 18-30.
Coming into the second quarter was a strong quarter from both teams, but the Kings came ahead in the game with momentum built up. The score coming to 41-59. #21 Spencer Klassen led his team and hooped 25 points in just the first half.
Starting the third quarter the Clippers pushed hard to tie up the game and close the lead, they kept pushing the Kings throughout the quarter. The score was 20-17 in the third quarter alone making a 61-76 score going into the final quarter.
Starting off the last quarter was a balanced well played quarter from both teams, unfortunately for the Clippers it wasn't enough to pull off a win. The game finished with a 79-93 score. Despite the Clippers loss, #6 Nicholas Gregerson went off scoring 35 points and 10 rebounds.
Player of the game for the Clippers was fourth year #16 Jason Wendel with 2 points playing solid post game.
