The men’s team and the Broncos played their rematch game Saturday with a the Broncos winning 70-79, finishing a weekend sweep for them.

In the starting minutes of play the Broncos came out hot going on a 9-3 run. However, Briercrest came back and finished the quarter at 17-20 for the Broncos in a two-sided start. In the second quarter there was similar play to the first, but the Broncos pulled some momentum in the game and finished the quarter 27-39. Starting off the third quarter Briercrest tried to fill the deficit they were facing, but the Broncos would not let that slip away and the quarter finished 40-52 for Olds.

In the last quarter of play things heated up as Briercrest began a low comeback as the quarter elapsed. Down in the last minute the game was 68-73 for Olds. In the last seconds the Broncos were knocking down every free throw and Briercrest could not build off that. Player of the game for Briercrest #5 CJ Greer with 22 points and 3 assists.

The Men’s team faces Saint Mary’s University at 8:00pm on January 25 for the rematch game, watch on ACAC TV or in Calgary for some more Clippers action.
